Records Collection

I have a handful of music Records that I've kept since I had my very first hifi system. I have some Beatles records, a few Orchestra LP and some Classic Rock Vinyl records. Although, I've played mostly CDs on my hifi system, I still like the sound of music records being played as CDs do not have the warmth and depth of the sounds of records. If you played the records on a quiet night during winter time, you can relax and have a nostalgic feeling of the songs which brings back a lot of memories of your younger years. For people who still have a records collection or are still collecting vinyls, do not discard them as these records with proper care can last much longer than CDs.

Video Game Memorabilia

A friend of mine had asked me to help his video game store find some video game memorabilia for the window display shelves and decor for the shop. He needed video game posters and figurines. My first thought was to find the video games memorabilia that represents the most popular video game titles currently on the market. I home in on video game titles like HALO 3, Warcraft Blizzcon 2008 and Gears of War 2. Over the next few weeks, I managed to buy online, close to 20 posters and 43 figurines of video game memorabilia for the shop. The next thing we did was custom made some neon light sign to showcase the products available for sale. Before the shop was opened for business, the video games supplier sent us some free video game memorabilia t-shirts to be given free for our customers.

If you never heard of UMD (universal media disc), it is a optical disc media developed by Sony for the PSP (Playstation Portable). Interesting enough, people who owns the PSP did not realise that other than playing games, the PSP can be used for watching movies. How? Simply buy UMD movies titles and play it on your PSP. You can find UMD movie titles on many online stores. They cost about the same price as a DVD and there are many movie titles available. You can even find bargains UMD movie titles on eBay if you are lucky. My personal favourite movies on UMD are "The Rock", "Batman Begins" and "Spiderman 3". My children loves to watch cartoons on the PSP and I think the PSP UMD combination is great as they keep the children entertained and busy while travelling on the road.

Shopping For Video Games Console Systems

Is that time of the year where I start to plan my shopping wishlist and starts to buy gifts for Christmas. Although the economy is not doing well, but the spirit of giving should not be forgotten. I don't normally wait till last minute to do my shopping as you will not be able to find bargains when the crowd sets in. So what I do is to start ordering my purchases one month ahead. My first shopping to do list is to buy video games console systems. These are popular gifts for both adults and children. The list of consoles that I will be getting are the Nintendo Wii, which I failed to get last year due to limited stocks, a Sony Playstation 3, a XBox 360, two sony PSP, a Nintendo Game Boy Advance and a Nintendo DS. This will probably cost me about 2 to 3 thousand dollars. These Video Games Console Systems will be given out as gifts to family members and co-workers during Christmas. Of course these are just some of the gifts for the men and boys. For the next few weeks, I will be looking at other gifts for the ladies of my family and friends.

There are many types of miniatures that people collect as a hobby. Popular miniatures includes dollhouse miniatures such as houses and furniture and transportation miniatures such as cars, airplanes, trains and tanks. Today, we will discuss collecting dollhouse miniatures. Doll houses can be handcrafted or comes in a kit. These houses can be purchased online and price can go from $50 to a few thousand dollars. I've come across a Victorian hand-crafted dollhouse miniatures going for $5000 dollars. The other interesting and fascinating part of collecting dollhouse miniatures are the furnitures. Most of these furnitures are replicated to precision and you can find almost anything for the living room, bedroom and kitchen. The cost of furnitures and accessories are not as expensive as the dollhouse miniatures. They usually cost from a few dollars to less than $100 dollars.

Collecting Baseball Cards

One thing I've always enjoyed is collecting baseball cards and finding the rare ones requires a little bit of luck. The best place I can think of for collectors to buy baseball cards is on eBay and there are abundance of these baseball cards for sale. The baseball cards are not expensive to collect but the rare ones with the autographs from baseball legends can really fetch a premium. The earlier 50's Bowman and Topps baseball cards are very popular with collectors and the hard to find cards that are for sale can cost up to a few hundred dollars. One problem that I found was some baseball cards are placed in the wrong category by the seller on eBay and you really have to do a thorough search if you do not want to miss out on the baseball cards that you are collecting. A good strategy that I've always applied is to use the search function on the website to give me an overview of the baseball cards available. To do a search, type in a keyword such as "packers" if you are collecting Green Bay Packers baseball cards and choosing the top category for example "cards" so that it covers all types of sports memorabilia collectible cards.
