My fax machine is dead?
For some unknown reason my fax machine could not be powered on the other day. Check the electrical power supply, switch and everything I could think of that is causing this problem. In the end, I came to to the conclusion that it had to be sent for servicing. I had this fax machine for seven years now, it had been very reliable until now. I've decided to buy a new fax machine as it might be cheaper than to service the old one. I'm thinking of getting laser fax machine. For me performance speed and quality is important as I received huge documents from clients. But laser fax machines toners and drums are quite expensive. I good thing about the internet is that you can easily find great bargain toners and drums for fax machines. I was evaluating three fax machines from Brother, Canon and Panasonic and decided to go with the Brother model as it is slightly cheaper than the other two, providing almost the same functionality.

Property Prices
The hot topic in the financial industry for the past months has been the sub-prime and the property market. It makes me wonder during such volatile market when banks lending to buy properties becomes difficult, is it a good time to buy property as a form of investment? Anyway, if you need a place to stay, it does not matter whether the property market is down or up. Chances are, you are more likely to be looking at the property prices right now. A good place to have a feel of property prices in your area is to look at the property ads and online auction sites. I enjoyed browsing through online auction property site, as you can see whether anybody is buying or bidding for houses and land in your area. You will be surprised to see that even though the property market is bad, you can still find people buying and bidding for real estate property.

Fishing Boat Weekend
The weekend is here, time to forget about the world's financial market causing all those uncertainty this week. I've been invited by a friend for a fishing boat trip this weekend and we planned to go out for sea fishing. My friend owns a bayliner boat fitted with enough fishing equipment for the four of us to have an enjoyable day of fishing. We packed some food, beverages, beers and enough suntan lotion to last us a whole day. Our fishing trip will start in the early morning hours as my friend has to drive his boat trailer to the dock. So we have some preparation work to do before setting out to sea. I've checked the weather report for tomorrow, and it is going to be a hot day. I hope we will catch some big fishes for this coming boat trip as our last fishing trip ended with very few catches.
A New Aquarium from Pet Supplies Store
I took an interest in rearing fish recently after seeing how a friend decorated his house with aquariums to match the decor of his house. I needed to build an aquarium and started to visit Pet Supplies stores. I wanted a fish tank that comes with a cabinet set, so the pet supplies owner showed me a few design and models. I selected a bow fronted fish tank design which I think looks good at the side of my wall. The next things that I bought from the pet supplies store were the fish tank accessories such as the air pumps, the decorations, lighting and filtration and heating equipment. I've decided to rear some discus fishes. The discus fishes are quite expensive but it is worth it as they look great in aquariums. I bought some fish foods and had a crash course on learning how to upkeep the aquarium from the pet supplies owners. I know I should have started with some basic knowledge of keeping an aquarium before investing in it, but I know I have to start somewhere to learn the ropes of maintaining an aquarium.

Kids Crafts
I visited my children's school last weekend for family day and parents were presented with gifts of crafts made by students. The school has taught the children how to make art and crafts decoration for birthdays, special holidays and occassions. I was quite surprise with the quality of the crafts they made, such as dolls, appliques, beaded ornaments.. That inspired me to buy some kids crafts supplies for my children as they have been asking for it for sometime. My children wanted to make some decorations and ornaments for this Christmas and I've decided to help them with this project. I found some crafts supplies online and they were reasonably cheap. Price aside, I think creating crafts are great hobbies for my children as they get to put their creativity to use and it is also a good test for their sense of observation and patients. I encourage parents to take part in making crafts with their children to create that special feeling of bonding with them.

More Stamps Collecting
Where to find stamps? The most convenient way to get them is through the internet. Other sources includes local postal services, banks and mail order firms. Find out more from stamps magazines and periodicals. When you have enough stamps in your collection, you would need albums to store the stamps. Choose those albums that comes with loose leaf expandable types. This will make organising the stamps more easily as your collection grows. The basic tools for stamp collecting other than the stamps itself would be the magnifying glass, a pair of plastic or metal tongs or tweezers, scissors. To remove stamps from the envelope cut out the area around the stamps, float the stamps face upwards in a bowl of lukewarm water (do not soak the stamps). Once the stamps starts to curl away from the paper, use a pair of tweezers to lift the stamps from the water. Dry the stamps by sandwitching the stamps between clean sheets of paper to absorb the moisture. Place weights on top and leave for 24 hours to dry.

Collecting Stamps
Different people collect stamps for different reasons. Some are inspired as a hobby by their teachers and parents, others are fascinated by the geography and history behind these stamps. The most important thing is collecting stamps need not be an expensive hobby. You could still get stamps from mails and postcards (although made difficult with the usage of digital stamps) or you could simply buy the stamps online. If you have an opportunity to look at the earliest released stamps in America, you would notice that it usually potrays the pictures of mail coaches and people on horsebacks. These stamps captures part of U.S. history by capturing the images of mail delivery in the olden days. For a start, you could collect stamps from your own country which will be easier to find and then slowy start to explore stamps from other countries. If you are new to collecting stamps, you could buy first day covers stamps or limited editions stamps from your own country's post office when they are released. These stamps are usually more valuable for a collector as they are usually limited in numbers.
