Is it possible to differentiate the qualities of audio between the different Music Audio format that is available in the mass market? You can find these formats CDs, DVD Audio, SACD (Super Audio CDs), Digital Music Downloads (MP3) and Records currently available. These music formats are the common source media for your listening pleasure but the difference in music formats means you need different types of players to reproduce the sound meant to be heard. Comparing the Records with CDs, I find that Records being in analogue format produces sounds that felt warmth with deeper bass as compared to CDs. The CDs on the other hand produces sharper high notes which is great when you are listening to vocals and instruments. Now comparing CDs with DVD audios and SACD music audio, both DVD audios and SACD encodes the source music at higher bit-rates and some DVD audios with their bigger capacities stores tracks in more than 2 channels (stereo) thus giving you the advantage of reproducing it in surround sound (5.1 channel). MP3s are great for listening in portable music devices but not as good when it comes to hi-fidelity. So what is the best quality for music audio, I would still say it boils down to the individual preference. You have to listen to the different formats to know what suits you best.

The Music Media

The music industry always fascinates me when new technology were introduced. I remember the first time I listened to music was with radios. At that time the music was mono and not many people could afford music players or stereo systems. Then came the introduction of the Sony walkman which made listening to cassette tapes more convenient. Also, music Records were the common media used by broadcasters and DJ's. With the introduction of CDs (Compact Disc), the cassette tapes were slowly phased out when we move from analog to a digital era. The latest trend is moving towards music MP3 format. The music MP3s are stored as media in a software format thus have the advantage of being portable and transferrable over the internet making them easier for storage. So what will be the next trend for music media? I do not think the CDs will disappear anytime soon since alot of audiophile enthusiast still listens to CDs with their HiFi systems. But I do believe that music media will evolve together with the latest trend in Blu-ray DVD format. Maybe storing more songs into Blu-ray DVDs with higher quality music reproduction. Just maybe...who knows?

When we talk about cellphones nowadays you will commonly hear brand names like Apple iPhones, Nokia N-series and so on.. I actually own two cellphones, one for everyday use that comes with standard MP3 player and camera, the other a business cellphone or smartphone. I have the HP ipaq business cellphones. What I like about this phone is that not only is the software designed for the business user in mind, it comes with GPS and WiFi functions that helps when you are travelling around for your business trips and it can be used for connecting online, communication and navigation functions. So why do you need business cellphones since most common cellphones comes with camera, GPS and Wifi function? First, is the wider keypad which makes typing messages alot more easier, second the wider screen makes it easier to read e-mails and finally it is like having a portable mini computer with you all the time.

Collecting Entertainment Memorabilia

I have a nice collection of music and movie entertainment memorabilia that I have been collecting since I was young. Some of these entertainment memorabilia were just everyday things during those days but became collectables over time. I remember, I like to keep things such as concert tickets, signed autographs of posters, t-shirts when I attended music concerts in my younger days. If you think about it, the Beatles and Elvis entertainment memorabilia are still popular to this day and that is because these items brings backs alot of memories for the adults in their younger years. Then there were the movies entertainment memorabilia collection that are mostly made of posters and pin-ups of my favourite actors. You are unlikely to find figurines or special items manufactured solely as collectable entertainment memorabilia like you find in the modern times. Which is why these movie entertainment memorabilia are very rare.
